Dec. 17, 2010 - ICE removes former Argentine police officer wanted for alleged involvement in torture and disappearances at "Dirty War" clandestine detention centers

Juan Miguel Mendez allegedly tortured and murdered individuals during Argentina's "Dirty War." This week, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations officers removed him from the United States and transferred him to the custody of the Argentinean government. Full Story

Dec. 16, 2010 - ICE arrests 13 on document fraud, conspiracy, identity theft charges

ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents arrested thirteen individuals on various charges ranging from document fraud to identity theft in Puerto Rico. Three of the individuals had previously been deported. Full Story

Dec. 16, 2010 - US seizes nearly 11 tons of marijuana aboard train from Mexico; 7 defendants arrested at suburban Chicago storage site

Federal marijuana distribution conspiracy charges were filed Thursday against seven defendants for the largest seizure of marijuana in the Chicago area - conservatively estimated at about 21,800 pounds or nearly 11 tons. ICE HSI agents seized more than $350,000 of counterfeit goods in the Las Vegas area. The enforcement action was part of Operation Fire Sale, an ongoing initiative targeting intellectual property crime in several major cities nationwide. Full Story
